Lourdes Public School & Junior College is located in the heart of Kottayam town in Kerala which is popularly known as “The Land of Letters, Lakes and Latex”. It is nestled under the serene surroundings of Lourdes Forane Church. The School came into being in 1996 with the objective of providing mental, cultural and moral development to its students and with a view to provide high quality education to both boys and girls in the age group of 4-17 years against the background of true Indian culture and a healthy environment in which they imbibe a spirit of service to community and ultimately to mankind.
Lourdes Public School and Junior College is owned and managed by Lourdes Forane Church Educational and Charitable Society on behalf of Lourdes Forane Church which belongs to the Archdiocese of Changanacherry. The Archbishop of Changanacherry is its Patron and the vicar of Lourdes Forane Church is the Manager. The manager together with the trustees of the church manages the day to day running of the school.
Lourdes Public School and Junior College is an English medium, Co-educational School recognized by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) with the Affiliation No. 930192. It has been recognized as a minority educational institution by the Government of India through its minority commission. The School prepares students for All India Secondary School Examination (AISSE -10th) and All India Senior School Certificate Examination (AISSCE -12th).
The School can boast of a sprawling building which houses a well furnished administrative block, class rooms, the Science, Maths, Computer and Language labs. The campus also includes an extensive playground with a top class Basketball court with ample facilities. The Church and Grotto adorn our school campus. The holy atmosphere in the grotto calms you and energizes you to a fresh start each day. INFOZONE- a feature unique to Lourdes comprising of a Writers’ Gallery, Modern Library, Language Lab-cum-Seminar Hall, and a High-end Computer Lab- provides all modern amenities to students to facilitate their academic and personality development. The school does not provide hostel facility.
